Hi,

I noticed that on my machine the side icons (main toolbar icons round the side of a window) in player/modeler/ or link editor windows don't get a rollover tool tip although the stack iconsand the context toolbar icons (on toolbars when an object is selected) do.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+

ATI Radeon X800GT

1 Gig Ram

Monitor is Viewsonic A75s 1024 x 786 32-bit (in 16-bit the icons lose their faces!)

Anyone know how to get the tool-tips to come up?

(tooltips IS selected in the modeler Menu)

It's a drag not knowing what I'm choosing, particularly with no 'help bar' that gives feedback ALL the time.

The graphics look OK otherwise, but I noticed that on another machine with an nVidia quadro 380 ALL icons get tooltips. Also on a second machine with an ATI X800GTO.

Anyone shed some light on this?

PS I had an nVidia 6600 graphics card and a Sempron 3000+ in the machine prior to the motherboard/processor/videocard change listed above and didn't see the main icon tooltips either!

PPS I de-installed tS7 and cleared the registry just to be sure - that didn't help either.

PPPS I still have tS6 in another directory....would that make the difference?

on my machine turning off the tooltips won't turn off the icons tooltip, only on panels like the object info panel..so there is some problem with tooltips in general..lucky for me I like having them, and I miss the help bar too..:D

Whoopee!

I solved my missing tooltips problem.

I downloaded TweakXP and noticed that in the Mouse/Hover area my hover sensitivity was set to 0.....so the system NEVER detected a hover....hence the tooltip didn't come up.

The Good Lord knows how it was ever set to 0, but now I set it to 5 (hover radius) all my tooltips appear correctly.

I hope this helps someone else too :banana:
