Yeah, that would be great since right now the tablet acts the same as the mouse and so there really is no benefit to having one when using tS.

i'd like it too, i use my wacom in photoshop and painter but for TS i gets moved aside. I'd love int if soft-selection and weightpainting could be done with a wacom.

I find it is much easier to select with lasso using the pen and tablet than it is with a mouse. ;)

The mouse and the pen are not in any way similar from a user experience standpoint. While they both do the same thing on your monitor, how you interact with each is very different.

I have been learning to sculpt in another package recently, while I can do pretty much the same thing with the mouse as I can with a tablet, the tablet is far more natural (natural meaning something you have trained your brain and hand to do since you were a toddler :D). We all need to pester Caligari about this, I think TS is the only graphic program on the market without at least some tablet support (ok, right, it's on the Model Side... whooptie-do)...

Sorry, my rant is over now... let me know when the tablet support is done...

Wort.

Sculpting programs like zBrush and Mudbox are usually quite effective when used with a tablet. I prefer zBrush over Mudbox personally, but Mudbox's navigation is easier.

I'm saving for zBrush myself...cheaper than Mudbox and much more powerful...:)

Modo is also used often for sculpting and work with hard surfaces...in this area it is often considered more powerful than zBrush, though zBrush has the ability to do hard surfaces too...

Well at least from my standpoint there isn't much of a difference as I'm almost equally capable with both, and have a good mouse/mouse pad so there is little jitter. :D

It would be nice for the pen pressure to make a difference so sculpting can be done effectively.

I think that what roberts want to say is that using a tablet just to have a mouse in a shape of a pen is a waste of money and feature of a tablet. Is a mouse mode tablet better than a mouse? YES, but is a shame TS workspace side doesnt support the tablet mode and pressure feature, instead TS software have to compensate this (on wheigt paint at least) with the time that the mouse button stays pressed to fake a soft selection, and it just start to paint with the movement (if you press the button and dont move nothing happend!!!), COME ON!! Its a waste of time, pacience, etc

Maybe the first patche is taking too long to be released
