When using the skeleton joint limit tool can the figures shown in the stack view panel tab show complete angle of freedom (in degrees) Ie if I type in 90 I have given that joint 90 degrees freedom in total. Currently I have to type in 45 to get a total of 90 degrees of freedom. This also applies to the readings in the default settings tab for the joint limits tool.

In the weight paint tool... which is now awesome by the way. Well done on that one. Please change the wording from grow and shrink to increase and decrease.. Grow and shrink imply the size change of an area, Flowers and areas are grown whereas weights are increased and decreased. Would make the options more obviously related to the strength of weight.

The weight paint smooth tool is very useful but could be even more so if it was possible for the user to decide on whether weights should be averaged towards the higher ones or the lower ones. I currently get the impression that the weights are all moved towards the highest ones. This would make the smooth tool EXTREMELY controllable and exceptionally powerful. I have high hopes this tool is going to lead the pack compared to any similar tool in any other highend 3D app that I have used. it's 80% of the way there already :D

When I build a joint chain I currently cannot use the axis of the nav widget to see which way the heirarchy of my skeleton is running. This is because at the minute whilst say the Z (plus as in +) axis of the nav widget initially shows as pointing from left to right along my joint chain. But if I rotate the view the widget axis visually pops, and flips over to the other side effectively now at 180 degrees of its start direction along my joint chain. This means that for 50% of the time the z+ axis is actually pointing to in Z- in reality.... very confusing. This applies whether in object or screen axis mode. The same applies for the axis flipping in the shape skeleton tool. Currently the only way I can see the direction of my heirarchy in the 3D window is to activate the joint limit tools, as these indicators don't pop axis direction.

Cheers

I add your suggestions to todo list, they should get into 7.6 patch.

There are more display modes for bones, switch to diamond shape bones, then you can see bone orientation directly.

I think what you asking can be remedied by turning off "Look at Camera" in the Object Navigation Widget. Here is a script that will change it On (Default) and Off.

Thanks Tomasb,

will check out the alternate bones view asap. Mind you the default bones visuals are very appealing and have nice clean lines, would miss that.

Thanks for that script I go to check it out right now.

Oh and are you up to speed on LE stuff. Project is brewing :D

Cheers
