Maybe If the IES light support for Vray would be too complicated. I am very satisfied with full Kerkythea integration :)

yasterday I did some work with KT:

Kerkythea rocks. Now that part one of my course is out, I probably should take some time to work on that exporter/plugin I had planned. ;)

Those renders look really nice. I might have to give Kerkythea another look.

I can't see the renders - no image attached or link broken?

edit - nevermind, they're showing now, weird... (not rthe renders - they're really good!)

I have that happen occasionally - usually hitting the reload button fixes it.

Nice renders.

Hi JACK!

hmm.. well you mentioned Eporter or Plugin. I think we need rather an 100%integration...Kerkythea is powered by own individual layered material system and own engine. If TS's materials will be exported to KT it will be not so good becasuse we need to recreate that.

or How do you think the exprter/plugin?

andras, I hope you don't mind me asking but how did you create these images with Kerkythea?

Hi ! Sorry I dont understand your question. What would you like to know? Materials, rendering, importing? anyway I create the models in the 3d application (B.) then I export it to KT. and finaly use final gather method.

Sorry I am not too clear on all of this.... how do you accomplish the export to KT and then the render. All I really understand at this point is that KT is another option for rendering scenes. I am just trying to understand how much I need to learn to use KT.

I'm guessing he doesnt export from tS - the statement "I create the models in the 3d application (B.) " suggest he models in Blender, and renders from there using whatever it has that calls (or exports to) Kerkythea.

I guess you could then model in tS, export in a format that Blender uses (if "B." is indeed Blender), then import to Blender, set up lighting, and render. Common formats like OBJ and X are most likely candidates for export to another app.

HTH!

Yes Tom that helps a great deal. I simply look at all of these tools as possible additions to the toolkit and have a childlike curiosity about everything anyway.

Who needs engineered light?

If I want light, I just open my window shades. It illuminates everything!

You can export to 3DS format from TrueSpace and load your objects into Kerkythea that way.

@Andras, there's elements of the Caligari NDA that prevent me from answering your question directly, but I can say that my plan is to have Kerkythea specific materials available inside Workspace for use with the exporter.

Really ? :) at tonight? do you open your window shade? :) I think If there is chance for use IES maybe there is a good feature for accurate lighting nearly.
