yah... negative bumps will do that. try using 0.01 and seeing how that looks.
Most of my bumps actually end up being 0.02, but I like to check out 0.01 because a few of them look better that way. |

looking much better. the texture is still a bit grainy... did you make it yourself? If so, you may want to apply alpha-mask smoothing. |

I see you changed gthe bump on the stones again - much better!!! the other stone texture looks a bit... furry. still too much graininess to it. Other than that, you ahve a good composition going on here. |

Great job. Now all you need is some cows. It will be interesting to see what you do with all that space there.:) |

If this is for the Monthly modeling challange - could you post a link to this WIP in the
August 2008 MMC Challenge (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=6059&page=2) Thread?
Thanks! I want you to get a chance to get voted on!! |

Home made trees. The trunk is just primitives, the leaves are alpha maps, diffuse images on planes. |

Filled out the other trees, extended the path, added a sky, threw in a couple of ox carts. :)
trees need more work, need to rotate the planes. Too bad there is no billboard feature in tS. :( |

Don't know about a billboard feature, but could you glue all the planes and tehn attach them to a null that you place over or near the camera. You'd need to ensure the group axis was at the tree, but then you could move (rotate) the null about like a handle, following the camera for whatever view you were using, rotating the plans as you go?
Might work....
Or set each plane to 'look at' the camera? Might have to adjust plane axes first to ensure it didn't cause unwanted rotation in a different axis... |

Hmmm,
If I make one plane like that and copy it, will it retain the 'look at camera' attributes on the copies? |

Added some stone texture to the path instead of chain mail, so Steinie won't get armor rash. :D |

It's a bit dark. most likely those people with older monitors will not be able to see anything.... Maybe add an ambient light, or move your sun to the left/right? |

Well, it's not a final render and I usually don't play with lights and other stuff until the end. :D |
