A useful feature is to be able to transfer UVs from one copy of a model to another.


Take for example a curved pipe. Normally mapping that would be hard, but with this workflow available: you can copy it, make it straight, UV map it with a basic cylindrical map, then apply the UVs from the straight one to the bent one.


Another use is to take a model of say a head, copy it, use a script to scale the points out untill you have a sphere shape, map it with a sphere UV, then apply the UV's back to your head mesh.
