Hello

I often had the need to see the position of the mouse. In 3D view or all the

other views.

If I move the mouse, I want to see the actual position in world units. I know, if I move

an object, I see the position in the object info box. Why not the mouse?

To see the number of units of the distance between two object-faces is

one of my suggestions too.

Hi Wigand, there is currently an object in the objects-tutorial objects Library-called object distance.

it will show you the distance between objects linked up to matrix a and b connecters based on the objects centers. slightly OT a neat thing with this is you can then link the distance out to the input of another obj matrix and moving one or the other hooked objects into the distance obj will make the one linked to distance out move by the amount.

Also in the Activities-Base library is an obj called mouse listener. i am not sure if this will serve the purpose you describe.

I found in order the get feed back from this obj , you have to place a plane to cover your ground area or, it also works when an object is clicked in the workspace. it will show the x an y postion of the mouse pointer on click in the workspace.

this may suit your purpose for now

thank you

Paul

Thank you for answering

If I understand you right, I have to bind two objects in LE, to see their

distance. I will try it. :)

Until now, I am not very familiar with the LE concept. Because it

is a complex theme, and I have to translate these complicated things in

my language. Indeed I wrote several VB6-programs at my job and at home,

but I think I need more information about the composition of TS-scripts.

Nevertheless, I believe it is the future for programs like TS.

Wigland, this is a great plugin idea!

I realize that I always missed a panel showing the mouse's screen coordinates in tS.

It could be a good addition to Frank's AniMark tool though ; but it may already exist as a standalone app.
