ts7.0 supports SM3.0 as it uses directx 9.0c

Then if you were to program shaders for I think at least the player view why not support .fx files because it seems that you would have to connect it to ts7 speciafically and have it become .rsitem(which I still don't understand). It would be cool from the fact that if you download rendermonkey there are many shaders already done like fur, NPR that outlines the object and a few other. Can this be a feature in ts7.5?

you cannot directly import rendermonkey materials, but if you know hlsl it shouldn't be problem to alter vertex/pixel shaders even in 7.1 to get npr or fur; there is only problem that you have not render target / cube maps support yet.

There are fx files within trueSpace directories. How are these used with trueSpace? I really do not understand the rsitem files either. The only thing that comes to my mind is that they are used for the text and maybe icons in the libraries.

rsitem is just serialized node with some additional info (bitmap preview,..)

fx files that are in script directory contain scripts that are used to assemble fx files (macros) and fallback materials (for various versions < sm2.0). it also contains scripts that are not currently editable inside LE and are "hardcoded" like rendering of shadow map or bloom filter.

If this is true, then why are the object.rsitem file's size larger?
