Perhaps not on the top of anybodies must have features, but I feel this kind of tool can expand an applications market. A lot of people are using 2D apps to achieve that 3D look. Why not have tS help skip the middle man?

Just a thought...

I doubt it would be worth Caligari's efforts, as there are numerous cheap [possibly even free] progs to convert [for example] a .PNG file to an .ICO file. You could just create the .PNG in tS, & then convert it in the icon app.

I see what you are saying, but if you look at it from the point of view of someone new to 3D, skipping that middle man might convince them to pick up a copy of tS.

It would hardly be a reason for a user to upgrade but it might be a reason for a new user to buy. Well...maybe. At the very least it might be a challenge for those people who are immersed in the LE, asumming something like that could be coded from it...

I have to agree to disagree on this.

There are just too many really cheap or free programs for ico's and gif animated files.

If you get a product like (insert name here) for less than 100.00 you can do all of that you want, plus make flash movies, screen savers, executable movies.

There must be thousands of freeware products on the Internet for doing this as well.

I don't think it would be worth packing another mb or two of code into tS to have this capability.

Plus, all the 3D programmers would point and laugh at the GIF and ICO guys on the way to the coffee pot. :)

It couldn't do worse than iSpace...

Besides, the presence of freeware alternatives shouldn't be the deciding factor against the idea as there are a couple of freeware options that could replace tS altogether if we use that logic.

But I do realize that this will by no means be a high priority to most tS users.
