How was yours?
Mine was not so good.
Install needed to be run twice and I'm still not sure it's right.
I've registered and confirmed, yet I get a pop-up registration request every time upon entering shared spaces.
Login screen doesn't 'remember' anything regardless of the state of the 'remember' checkbox.
Attributes panels pop up underneath my Windows taskbar which in my case is at the top of the screen. This forces me to drag the taskbar to a different edge which messes up my desktop icon layout. A cascade of grrrs ensues. Shouldn't these popups be tied to the trueplay window?

Ok, let's try 'Training'.
Another truePlay Registration Process screen..didn't I already do this?
Another series of popups crammed under the taskbar.
Sure is dark in here... can I turn up the lights?
I select a light... or did I? I can't tell what I'm selecting.
Should I Right click the light (like I would in tS) to adjust it's intensity? Hmm. Nothing. Scale it? Nope, it jumps back to it's original size. Move it? Nope.
Poking around, I see where I can adjust the 'Layer Render Attributes Edges Opacity' which I guess used to mean 'turn on wireframe'. At least now I can make out some objects. Progress! (Yes Roman, some of us still use wireframe, and in colors other than all white!)

The smart sphere squished and the clunky thing went around in circles so I guess those are doing what someone intended them to do. I'll hit the 'Back' object and see what else there is.

More popups, including the registration screen again.

Obviously I need help, so I'll try that. Hrmm... no one here.
At least I can move things around in here, although it's still awful dark.
Can I turn up the lights? No.
Let's go 'Home' again and start over.
Oh look, ( crazy laughter ) a registration screen!

I see someone else is here but the chat window seems to have gone missing. They are sweeping faces off the caliCube in the center of the screen. Try as I might I can find no tools to do the same. Object move is about all I've managed to accomplish. Since the chat window is gone, there's no way to ask whoever is doing the sweeping how they are doing it. I accidently click the Rubik's Cube and make a quick visit to the Minesweeper game room that insisted on calling me 'Peter'. By the time I make it back home whoever was sweeping the cube is gone- no chance to ask how they managed to point edit an object.

Well, that's enough playing for me.

"We are sorry, but this effect cannot continue to work"

Sorry guys, this was more like work than play.

You did better than I did..

I went to the website home page - to download Trueplay.

Click on the "Download TruePlay Now" link. Huh? - Im in GameSpace.. no trueplay link in there ..
Back to home page - ahah.. "Share your 3D Artwork on the web" link.. in I go..
AHA - Download TruePlay now (right at the BOTTTOM - in BIG letters.. - Why not the TOP in smaller ones?)

??? - truePlay registration Process ??
Is this the same as my TrueSpace registration? - I try to login.. Nope.. wont login.
So I register. Nope - wont let me in, someone called xmanflash has already registered. ?? - I assume thats my TrueSpace login stopping me?

So I cant get the software under my XMANFLASH name?? - Why is there not a "lost password" function here, in case I got it wrong?

Are you sure you really want anyone to get this tool?

And HOW DO I GET BACK TO THE DOWNLOAD PAGE for the stuff I bought? - I cant find it anywhere.. it only lets me in that place if I buy something it seems - and I only wanted to try to see if I could download TruePlay from there...

Agree, link to truePlayer is still linked to Gamespace at Caliagri main site.
This should be fixed.

Here is a screengrab of how it looks to me: (http://www.spacekdet.com/2006/look_dark.jpg)
How about one of you tS7-ers build a light switch or turn them up so I can see. Or, if you can't adjust them anyway, make them invisible.
Yes, my monitor is calibrated.
'Studio A' is marginally better, there I can at least see the 'Home' house.

Is your card capable of showing full quality pixel shader 2 , I see similar results as you if I drop the hardware settings down from full quality.

I will see If I can find more balance between the hardware settings for scene lighting set-ups without causing a detrimental effect on the realtime lighting being shown as intended for cards capable of showing full effects.

This may be difficult to accomplish as I can forsee that making the lights very bright for using in settings other than full will make the scenes too bright for others visiting with hardware capable of showing full settings.

Hmmm... No matter what I do I can't connect to the shared spaces in TruePlay!

I've just downloaded the version on the caligari.com website yesterday, and not having much success with the shared spaces, although I can load a recording that I created in TrueSpace 7.1 and run it just fine.

I've got both a hardware firewall on my router, and Windows firewall running. I've followed the directions from the Caligari website for opening up the Windows Firewall (it was already correctly configured) and I also set up an opening through the router firewall using both the applications settings as well as the firewall settings.

No Go!

I use the login window from TruePlay and when I type in my login info, it just makes a swoosh sound and the login screen stays up and nothing else happens.

I even put the workstation I was using into the DMZ on the network. Still no luck!

If anyone has an idea as to what I can try next, I would appreciate it!

Best regards,

Aaron

Best bet is to contact customer support when you have specific issues like can't connect to tP servers - it is pretty much too complex and too specific to be able to give much help on a forum (forums are great for general solutions, but not so good for specific problems an individual may have).

Check our contact us page to get some personalised help :)

HTH!

Why is it that the simple animated Caligari cube brings, not only trueSpace and or truePlay, but my whole computer to a crawl? I do not have this problem with other animations nor simulations.
