Hi folks. Scriptor meeting in the scriptorium Tuesday,

6 PM Caligari time.

Caligari Clock time can be found here:

http://www.caligari.com/birdsofafeather.asp

How to connect:

1. Click the Shared Space icon in truespace (the two eyeballs) in the lower right hand corner.

2. Type this in the top text edit window of the Shared Space dialog window that opened (you need the two forward slashes - thanks trueblue! )

//tpportal.caligari.com/1212

Now, login.

You will be taken directly to the Scriptorium, where the meeting is held.

Bring your questions about the Link Editor (LE), scripting, building interfaces, etc.

Also feel free to bring your own LE/scripted creations.

If you want, also post your questions and ideas here. That will give the attendees a chance to think about your questions and solutions.

See you there!

Froo

Interesting series of discussions last night. Norm demonstrated his point cloud based clock (uses vertices only with no polygons) again for us. Has a very interesting appearance and includes a pendulum "dot"

We discussed possibility of making a scripted fishing rod that would bend in the right direction based on the direction to a target and line tension. Of course that lead to discussions on creating additional fish similar to the shark in the base object library (i.e. trout).

We also discussed the idea of creating a "star room" (a.k.a. planetarium) that could be set to a specific latitude/longitude/time on the earth with planet positions calculated appropriately. Stars could be represented by a point cloud with the overall orientation of the point cloud controlled by a script which modifies the object matrix

Point cloud idea could also be used in the construction of a new dot matrix display with very minimal size requirements.

Lots and lots of ideas last night along with discussions of approach to tackle them.

This was the first one I've been available to attend for several months due to other commitments and I found the discussion to be lively and topical as it has been from past memory. If you're interested in scripting, this is a good place to be.

tS7.6 seems to run quite smooth in the scriptorium and the new login screen makes things a cinch to go to the right room from the beginning.
