'Emailer' is a script object that lets you send an email from within trueSpace.

You need to enter the address of your SMTP server. If you need to send a userid and password, the script will have to be updated. My ISP assigns me a private smtp server address, no password needed. Check your email configuration.

The script uses CDO.Message to send the email. With Rosetta abstracting the UI in the 2D aspect, the whole script (with comments) is only 31 lines long.

Emailer has obvious uses in the network monitor. Send email to your Blackberry or phone. Email to SMS, pager, and other mobile services using internet services.

I attempted to add some features, such as attachments and importance, but my version of CDO didn't support them. I am running XP Pro SP 3 with Office 2000, and I'm attempting to avoid sharing scripts that won't work for the majority of users. So if something along the line doesn't work for you, please let me know.

All of my email addresses use passwords. This is another interesting idea though. Nice work. :) Perhaps the first steps to creating a way to email other avatars in Shared Space. ;)

You're opening some new doors and fresh ideas with your test scripts here. keep'em coming. It's good to see new possibilities exposed like this.

You should swing by the scriptors meetings at 9pm Eastern on Tuesday nights if you can too. We get together and share scripts, ideas, and help each other test stuff out. It can be pretty fun. :)

The 'Emailer' object has been updated with authentication and security options. The SMTP configuration has been moved to a separate panel in the 2D view.

The object still works with authentication set to 'None', I cannot test the other options.
