Here is an object Manipulator. Uses Keyboard keys to move and rotate any selected object that has a Matrix, for instance, objects, skeleton IK handles and joints, cameras, and lights.
Select the Activate button first before selecting any objects. You can switch between other objects while activated as well. This script will show total elements count for selected object and when you enter into Point Editing it will show selected element count. Background, Point Edit, Object Navigation, and View widgets still work in conjunction with Keyboard keys.

Special thanks to stan for additional help with this project. :)

Here is an object Manipulator. Uses Keyboard keys to move and rotate any selected object
that has an Object Matrix like models, cameras, and lights. Select your object First and then
select the Activate button. You must have the Manipulator activated before selecting the
Activate Look at Selection. You can switch between other objects while activated as well
as long as you select an object that has an Object Matrix. An object has to be selected at
all times while in use.

Hi trueBlue,

This scripting work you are doing is awesome and very interesting to me. I may have a perfect use for this particular object manipulator script within truePlaces. There's a thread in the "Collaboration" area of the forums here which I started which discusses a potentially awesome new way to get many new members into truePlaces involving scripting. If you get a chance drop by and read it, your input on it there would be greatly appreciated.

I updated this Manipulator to include limited support for posing Characters.
For Characters select the DynaPose and then a Joint or a IK Handle.
Only use Rotation keys for Joints.
Only use Position keys for IK Handles. (Handles have to be IK.)
But you can also use the Object Navigation Widget along with the Manipulator at the same time.
Also might come in handy when Point Editing. It is not necessary but you could constrain a Camera to your Object and switch back and forth manipulating each. Or set the Rotation Step to 45.000 so that you can rotate your object real fast. Background Widget works too when in use.
See original post for updates.

Your welcome let me know if you find it useful. :)
I started out trying to build a controller where you could pose characters from Edit boxes and Scrubbers more precisely but have not yet worked at a good solution. I am not saying this Manipulator serves this purpose very well either.

I have updated this project today. Please see first post for details.
Edit: To the two persons that downloaded this new version.
There was a problem with that version and have since uploaded the
corrected one.
