Hi folks...

here is my second animated (very) short movie "iBOT Surprise"

(i miss a 'animation' Thread in this forum)

Take a look and let me know what you think:

HD Version - 1280x720 (11,8MB) klick here (http://www.east-power-soft.de/temp/surprise_1280x720.avi)

PC Version - 640x360 (6,0MB) klick here (http://www.east-power-soft.de/temp/surprise_640x360.avi)

Behind the scenes:
I need 6-7 weeks to create it from the idea until the final. Including time for tests, preproduction, modeling, storyboard etc. Time for rendering not included. For the HD Resolution i need ca. 1,5min. per Frame and the output is 30 FPS. That means...the PC runs all night long ;)

As you can read, i used TS6.6 togehter with MotionStudio, PrimalParticlesFX, Simbiont Shaders and a view other PlugIns.

The SFX is also done by me, because it was to difficult to find the correct effects. The famous background music is from the net - there i had luck.

so, enjoy and ask if you have questions.

Its great! I love it,

Do you have a you tube page?

Contact me if you would like me to upload it to truespacefree on youtube.

The only critique is why not use the breakable egg thats in trueSpace?

why....TrueSpace 6.6 !!!

ok, this answer was stupid...well, first reason: i would do it in this way. Second reason: the breakable egg was unknown for me.

That was cool! Raised a few genuine chuckles from me :) I do like the sparks etc as the egg gets cut in half, that was a favorite part of mine (in technical terms of rendering etc).

Any plans to do any more animations in future? Any plans for iBot?

Thanks for sharing!

Tom

Thanks TomG.

Yes, i have a view Storyboards here and i will create more animations ;)

iBOT was more a test to figure out a view things like a good animatable rig and also for getting more feeling how i seperate scenes and stuff like that.

For iBOT is no other animation in my head, but who knows...

The thing is that animation, specialy good animation, needs time ... a lot of time ... and i still learning the pipeline. So stay prepared.

Wow! Great work DesignDevil. And on so many levels too. Its a great model, nice textures and lighting, a beautiful, smooth render and the animation itself is quite superb. You should submit it to the Caligari monthly animation contest; looks like a winner to me.

hi DesignDevil, a great piece of work!

I have a -probably naive- question, because I am not doing much animation, but like to get into it. How do you make the legs grow taller, did you have the cylinders elongate? And what about the arms? Morphing? I would love to see the animated wire frame. I feel like asking the magician where that bunny came from.

Hope you want to share some of your 'tricks'.
