Hi, thought id post this here to try get some comments.
I created a showreel of work I have done up until this year, it contains work ive done perhaps as far back as 2005/6. It has all been done in either TS or Maya. Please let me know what you think, im pretty embarassed of it all really, dissapointing product from someone starting his final year on his 3D animation course, but I had to have something up I guess.

Fast paced and well put together. The music doesn't always fit the images, but I dont' think you could do much better.

I dont think it's got that crisp "Matski" feel that I see in your beautiful and well thought out stills. You produce very professional work here with a distinct style and I'm not seeing that in the video. :o

Maybe you could work some of your stills into the video and do up some new environments for your animations that have that consistency of modern design that I think identifies your style.

I think you're very strong a arch viz stuff and should include some of that too.

Thanks guys, I wasnt sure whether or not to place my stills into this, but now im thinking maybe I will.

I intend on producing a lot more animation this year for a newer and better showreel, but unfortunatly this is all I have to show heh.

A lot of the animations in this showreel are now lost forever, unless I can find them on one of my old broken Hard Drives, so I was unable to render higher quality videos or make them look any good lol

There are ways to spice up stills, like have a glass ball roll in front of them and cast caustics or pan and zoom them. Transitions can be important too. Even cooler would be to have a still of a sketch fade into the 3D world then have that animate.

Keep at it! I'm a big fan of your style and it would be a shame not to see that come through in your reel.

It was pretty good Matski. For the next one, I would spend more time on certain shots, to let the work and/or effect settle into the viewers brain more. But I notice that showreels are almost always done with a frenetic viewing pace, so, just a thought.
