Thanks to Jamesmc who alerted me in the forums here about a special 50% off deal for Vue 6 Pro Studio. It was too good an offer to pass up so I splashed out and bought it. It's a pretty cool package in my opinion.

Using the same approach as detailed in the recent trueSpace/Vue integration course I transferred one of my trusty dirigible airships from trueSpace into Vue along with some earlier trueSpace models I had previously converted to Vue 5 Esprit.

Some of the models - the right-hand castle for example - are commercially available products designed for Vue, the square house on the far left is a freebie made by Capt. Marlow and so this is not all my own work by a long shot.

It does contain a lot of tS built models though. I thought I'd post it here as a 'thanks very much' to James for pointing out the 50% off deal!

As always, any comments or criticisms are welcomed

Thanks Jack - actually I'm using a variation of this scene in one of my ongoing animated adventures so you're right on target there!

Glad it was of benefit.

I would have bought it myself, but after purchasing Zbrush and Adobe Creative Suite, my budget was starting to squeal a bit.

The image is very pro, looks surreal and real at the same time.

Honestly W!ZARD, I think you should get in touch with hayao miyazaki. Your scenes are reminiscent of a combination of Howle's moving castle, Kiki's delivery service, Spirited Away and more. Definitely the kind of style the Anime Guru would appreciate. Very compelling vistas and each of your works tells a story all by itself.

Thanks James and Kena.

I've not yet seen Howls Moving Castle - my local movie rental place is a small corner shop run by a delightful young Indian couple who don't seem to have discovered anime. That's probably why I'm making my own movie.

Although seeing the facial morphs in the latest Captains Blog I'm wondering if I should be starting my movie again from the beginning!

That's lovely, W!ZARD!! I love it.. and yes... I too love the work of Hayao Miyazaki ..I am particularly fond of Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind.. wonderful story .. wonderful images and animation..

soon as I win the lottery, I'll send you a copy ;)

The set I have, which was a birthday gift a while ago.. has two disks.. one is the full animated story. and the other is the story with all sound repeated...an d consisting entirely of his concept drawings..

As always W!Z not only is your work full of interesting things to look at, but is beautiful too!

That is a fantastic image wizard. Makes me wanna get vue too ;) Will be a while before I can though if I do. Will be cool if I could get animation into a scene like that. Maybe with collada export, ultimate unwrap export to a vue compatible format would be possible.

Hi Frog. I've used tS and Vue in animations together in a basic sense. I have a couple of Vue scenes animated with my airship flying through the scene - I'm pleased with the results as you can easily animate flight paths and camera moves as well as animate quite effective cloud movement too.

I also have another couple of Anims using a panoramic render from Vue painted on the inside of a big sphere with the airship flying round inside. These anims are real time rendered in tS.

The possibilities offered by chromakeying are interesting as well - as in doing the character anims in tS against a blue or green screen background which could be replaced with Vue landscapes (or animated footage from any source really).
