Hi.

2 questions here.

How can I load an image as a background to draw on the draw pannel?

And, is there any tool to draw in perspective? The photo I have is not ortogonal, its on 2 point perspective.

:)

Right click the Drawpanel icon.
Left (or right) click the gray boxes to browse for your images.
Finally, tic the checkbox to display the image.

Don't understand your second question.

Thanks for the reply.

I have now half the answer to the second question.

If I put an image as a background on the model window, I can put a vertical drawing plane to draw with a perspective match with the image.

But, now how do I put an image there? Not just in the plane? :D

I'm guessing that you want a background image. Right click the draw objects icon to open the display options window and one the the icons can be clicked to choose a background color or image.

Note with background image, it remains static, making it unsuited to use for tracing your object on. What happens is this - the minute you zoom in or zoom out or move left and right, then your model no longer lines up with the background image (which won't zoom or pan or anything).

This is why image planes are used, that way you can zoom and move, and the image responds accordingly.

Background image is really only useful for rendering purposes, so add a background in place of a solid color.

HTH!

Thanks for the concern Tom.

Here is what I needed this for:

I could tweak the image in Photowhatever to make the perspective ortogonal, and use a draw panel, but with this, I have a basic draw, with more or less a correct proportion.

Normally I don't use the draw pannel. I draw the shapes in Corel Draw, and export them via ai format. But as I'm planning to give a shot at the MMC, all has to be done in TS. ;)

As sketchup has an option to match the perspective of a photo, I thought this method could be interesting to try. :p

Note that you don't have to do everything in trueSpace for the MMC, just the majority of your work, i.e. it should be your primary application. So creating profiles externally would definitely be OK - although it does look like you're sorted now anyway.
