I just ordered a Bamboo tablet & never used one before. Out of curiousity....can a mouse and a tablet both be active on a PC at the same time, or do I have to toggle between one or the other? |

My tablet and mouse are both active on my pc, not a problem with any tablet I have used so far. |

I have the same combo (and an Intuos on my main machine) just dont lay your stylus on the bamboo...makes the mouse unresponsive.
To be honest, I cannot use a tablet with tS, except using the zoom feature on the top..:) |

Both work happily alongside each other. As a note, if you get a mouse with the Bamboo that's specific for it, it's probably not worth using. I got a mouse along with my older Wacom, and it was awful :) I just use my regular wireless mouse. So I can just grab whatever best suits, mouse or pen, I do need to move the tablet out of the way for any serious mousing though (otherwise I just use the mouse on a spare bit of desk somewhere).
Yep, the tablet isn't good in tS, but the purchase here is being done for the 2D aspect of working in applications like GIMP, Paintnet, etc, where a mouse just isn't in the same league as a tablet.
HTH!

I just bought a bamboo about a month or so ago, I did'nt bother with getting the mouse with it myself. I just use a normal mouse and both work great together. I have tried it with ts but found it to be much harder then using a mouse. I only use it for paint programs. for general roaming, a mouse is better to use. |

I have the Bamboo and Mouse setup too which comes in handy if you create your own textures. Create model in trueSpace with keyboard and mouse, uv map with keyboard then send map into a graphic program were I use the Bamboo. The work flows pretty nicely. |

There is a way to use the tablet on TS.
You just have to go to the Bamboo's setup and put in mouse mode. It works pretty well! Its a little bit odd, but it worth! To edit edge loops is awesome!
There is also some problems if you use a program like gimp to texture and change to TS all the time to check the result. Gimp doesnt work with mouse mode of Bamboo, so to switch you have to change the mode all the time.
But I love use my Bamboo at Truespace in mouse mode, is much more fast to do some operations.
And its true that both, mouse and tablet, can be connected at computer. Theres no problem at all. |
