I am a TS 6 (paid up) user; I have just downloaded TS 7.6 and some tutorials. I have roughly got my head around the new interface but I can’t seem to import or export dxf. The File / Load dialog box seems to include every format known to man except dxf, how to I import dxf?

Also from time to time the view pan and rotate commands appear to stop working, it turns out the commands are working but the view does not change dynamically.

Many thanks

Murray

Hi Murray.

Welcome to the Truespace Forums! :D

You can import DXF from the Model side.

1) Ensure Bridge is on:

- Click Setting Tab on upper right of interface

- Click in background of main view

- in Desktop area of Panel view on right hand side, check Bridge setting. It should be Auto or On.

2. Switch to Model view, by selecting Model in upper left corner of interface

3. Over on upper right side of interface, is the Ts6 Files tab.

Click that.

- Select: Load -> Object

4. A Load Object windows dialog appears. In Files of type:

choose: Autocad *.dxf

Select your file, then choose open.

5. Then if you choose, switch back to Workspace side, by selecting Workspace in the upper left hand corner of the interface.

Workspace is the latest version of truespace (7.6). The Model side is essentially 6.6.

I am not sure of the latest version of the DXF format you can import.

Plugin development for Workspace side is currently underway. Import/Export of various formats is a high priority.

If you have any more questions please post! :)
