I am just wondering if there is an easy way to extrude edges? At the moment I am using Dynamic Sweep but it isn't exactly what I want it works but it leaves alot of fiddling afterwards. Mostly I am wanting to just push back the edge to add depth not sweep them inwards to close a hole. In other programs I have used you can just hold Shift and then drag back on the axis you want to extrude but I can't seem to find a simple way to do it in trueSpace :(

Sounds like what you are really looking for is the bevel tool...

Edge extruding is for poly by poly type modeling for example when building cars, you do it by setting edge selection mode, then using dynamic sweep on edges instead of faces.

Screen caps would give us a better idea of what you are trying to do.

It is for car modeling mate :) and I am working poly by poly, it's for the Audi A5 I am working on, for example the radiator grill needs depth adding but whenever I use Dynamic Sweep instead of it sliding backwards it slides inwards like a bevel.

Doh, lol. :o :D

That's because it's using the edge normal to determine extrude direction. I'm not aware of any settings to change that, but I agree it can be annoying at times. Do you have any idea for better workflow? I can pass them along to the developers.

I personally think that allowing a Sweep / Extrude based along the axis would be alot more helpful and easier to use. In Cinema 4D CE you can do it like that you just hold shift and drag it out as needed and it makes working on meshes alot easier and faster as there is no need to fix verts afterwards.
