First, I am running a Quad 6600 with Vista Home Premium.

I am wondering if multithreading is enabled with Scanline? Setting the option seems to have no effect in either the elapsed rendertime or the visibility of the scanline while rendering when using Scanline.

In contrast, Raycast shows 4 lines rendering when I render. Turning off Multithreading sets it to only one line in Raycast. But regardless of what I do, the rendering is not sped up at all when using Scanline and Multithreading.

Also, the manual says that rendering with medium and Scanline will not produce shadows. That is mentioned on page 72 of the pdf manual. I cannot reproduce this. On my system, using Scanline with medium and no raytracing still produces shadows. Am I doing something wrong?

Can anyone else confirm this? Or is it possible that something is wrong with my installation?

One last comment. In the stack view the options for rendering quality only show wireframe, hidden line, medium and high. But in the panel it shows low as well, which appears to be gourard shading. Interestingly enough, if I set it to low from the slide out panel, the stack view shows low. But if I go to the dropdown in the stack view, the option isnt there. Only if I manually set it with the panel that is in the 3D view.

Some inconsistency there and I am wondering if it is on my end or is that normal? With that in mind, I find Raycast to be the best option, since it is taking advantage of all my processors. Of course for final rendering in most cases I would want to use Raycast anyway, but I find it curious that Scanline doesnt seem to reflect what the manual says it should.

Thanks in advance.
