I'm having a little difficulty moving from TS3.2 to 7.6 in terms of reflections.

in TS3.2 I could set the shininess of one object, set lights up, and any other object would be reflected beautifully.

I have tried all sorts of combination of shininess, reflectivity and so on, and myriad combination of lights. My wooden surface refuses to reflect anything at all, no matter what type of reflectivity setting I use. Any ideas?

We could do with a little more info to help you out the best way possible - are you working in the model side or workspace side?

If the former, and you're using the 'lightworks' render engine, this is most similar to what you will have used before in TS3. There's also the VirtuaLight render engine (which I don't know anything about).

On the workspace side, you'd probably be working with the real-time DX shaders which, again, I'm not best placed to advise on but others would be able to help.

Knowing which route you're using will affect resolving your problem. Feel free to also post your scene file and we can look at it to see if there's anything obvious.

One really quick one to check (assuming model-side and Lightworks) - having been caught out by this myself - is to check that you 've got raytracing actually enabled - I find the icon for this very misleading compared to the older versions of tS and still frequently find that this is deactivated by default, killing my reflective surfaces in the process... when the icon is active it has a small white border around it... worth checking anyway...

Also see my reply to this in the other thread where it was asked. It's generally best to keep one question in one thread rather than ask twice, otherwise answers get fragmented :)

HTH!
