I have created some trees that I have imported from another program and everthing looks and works ok until file is saved and I try to reopen the file a day later. The leaf textures and trunk texture were applied from the workspace side using textures from TS76 workspace library. I have saved the file from both the model side (ts6.6) and workspace side, but the file saved from the model side looses the leaf texture when file is reopened. See attached images. What is strange is that the trunk texture turns black but the leave simply do not render. ANy ideas on what the problem is.

Just an offhand thought... Have you tried turning off the bridge before saving the file on the Workspace side? I know it sometimes has problems with alpha planes.

Then again... Did you re-apply the textures using a DX9 alpha shader? if not, that could be why it is not saving correctly

Another thing I found with losing textures - be in the Model side when loading from the workspace libraries. This fixed losing textures on reload in a problem scene for me. Bridge had to be on or auto of course.

<be in the Model side when loading from the workspace libraries>.

I didn't think you could do this. Are you saying you can use workspace tool icons on the model side??? to load a texture into model space ?

I think I have discovered what the problem is and that is If I use the texture for the leaves from the workspace side trees they are saved in a dir called RD Tmp Textures with very long names as:

"256x256x1_890fb22-4dd061a1-1c1d05aa-998a3e96-11.RdBitmap.jpg"

and if I try to save this texture in to my modelspace library, TS crashes when I quit TS. If I open these jpg textures into my paint editor program and resave them with shorter names such as WorkSpace_leave01,jpg then reapply these new model side textures (on modelside) to the trees then I don't have the the problems with the textures not working.

Also the jpg images textures saved to the RS Tmp Textures are just that, temporary and they are deleted when you quit Ts !! No woder thay dissappear

I wonder why they would not work as these textures are just jpg images and after thinking about the problem the above is what I discovered. :)

You can't use workspace tool icons on the model side - you can though use the libraries, in the stack on the right. You can load from them while in the model side. I have found this can better preserve some textures.
