I'm making a "cell division" out of a sphere primitive, by animating the vertices. From frames 0-150 it's constricting the center down to a point, and then from 150-200 it's re-adjusting the positions of everything so that the two new spheres are actually spherical.

The problem is that the verts constricting to a "point" in the center (A) are then overshooting after frame 150. As you can see in the attached image, they continue moving in the direction they were going before frame 150. I think this is the path being "smooth" instead of having sharp corners but I can't figure out how to fix this... after finally managing to find the button (B) it's not enabled anyway. :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'd need a sharp keyframe at 150 (the image shows a much later keyframe selected, in fact the end of the animation).

You might also try the workspace side, animation is much better over there than the Model side :)

If you are in the Model side anyway, you might consider Metaballs, just need two spheres and pull them apart, they will automatically give this give of look just by keyframing their movement (a connecting bridge will form, stretch out, then "snap" and revert to two spheres).

HTH!
