I'm confussed about 3rd party Render engines.

would be helpful if the pages said how to get them.
form link on these pages is messed up.
have not read all the manuel yet but it's confusing about this.
http://www.3dvirtualight.com/ don't work
So could some one exsplain about virtual light and lightworks.
Do you buy them or just down load them from where ?
I have ts5 lightworks in it will it work with 7.6 ? |

Both render engines are built into tS7.6 and are available from the Model-side - you don't need to get them from anywhere. I haven't spent a huge amount of time looking at the fine detail, but LW seemed to be the default when I installed and that's what I've stuck with as it's familiar to me as a 5.1 user too. But you should be able to switch to VirtuaLight, I've just not bothered looking at how yet. There were some problems for some people with options panels disappearing, not sure if this has been formally resolved yet.
There's whole sections of the Manual dedicated to working on the Model Side and the various render engines - should tell you what you need to know.
I believe Tomg said there was a way to render to one of these offline engines from the workspace side too, though I can't remember exactly how - think it was covered in one of his Bitesize videos. |

I clicked the render button on model side nothing happens
so I was not sure if the render engines where in the free 7.6.
maybe ya need to install them some how.
I'm muttering my way threw the manual.and read the light render part but never got how to install them. |

Thanks for ya help but
The right click on render scene icon
option for render engines
The Panel / offline renders is empty
even pushed the drop down arrow
no render engines to pick from. |

Well I can't get that side panel thing to work properly either, but I found my render enginer another way.
First off, you need to be sure you're in model-side (no offence, this took me some time to work out why I was struggling - the 'model' tab should be GREY and the workspace tab BLUE, apologies if that's obvious to everyone else....)
Then if you go to the 'TS6 files' menu near the top-right of the screen and choose 'preferences' you get a little pop-up panel like the one from tS5, at the bottom of which you chould be able to choose between lightworks and virtuaout.tsr files.

Also be sure you are clicking on the Model side Render icon, and not the workspace side Render icon which may be still visible even while in the Model side. The Model side Render icon is there in the 3D window, in the same place it was in tS6.6, and it will render using Lightworks (the default), or Virtualight (needs to be selected), or V-Ray (needs to be selected, and only if you have purchased it).
The workspace side Render icon will only render using V-Ray, so only does something if you have purchased V-Ray.

when u reset icons
the render button that works is at the top.
I was hitting the render button to the old ts5 lw's icons it does not work.
when u reset icons it's closed to a small square top left
both icons are the same
workspace side is at the bottom |
