Hi, could someone help with this please?

I am trying to clear a hot key I have set up so i can use the key again on another command?

I am using the workspace side at present (in case this is different to model side)?

Thanks, J

I know of no way to reset a hotkey to have none hotkey then in the Workspace. To change a hotkey you need to choose a new one.

You could theoretically modify the truespace internal hotkey file. It is in the Scripts folder of your trueSpace installation. \tS\Scripts\Window.Shortcuts.default

When you really want to clear everything i would recommend to reinstall tS though. Faster and cleaner.

The defined hotkey will be reset as soon as you assign the hotkey to another function.
Edit: Another way to reset all the keys is to copy \tS\Scripts\Window.Shortcuts.default on top of \tS\Scripts\Window.Shortcuts.xml, but I think that is supposed to be a last resort.

1. rename Window.Shortcuts.xml to Window.Shortcuts.backup
2. copy Window.Shortcuts.default
3. rename "Copy of Window.Shortcuts.default" to Window.Shortcuts.xml

Unfortunately not in the Workspace. I can without problem assign the same hotkey to different functions. trueSpace doesn't warn me that the hotkey is still in use. The hotkey will not work at the second tool though.

Good point. The shortcut keys are assigned in sections. So like in point edit "F" chooses face selection, but you can set "F" to create a torus and they'll both work. If I set the "F" to something like expand selection in point edit the "F" will be reassigned. Since they are both in the same point edit section it will warn you that the hot key is already assigned to pick faces before you make the change.

I checked out the manual and chapter 2 has the list of preset shortcuts and shows the groups they belong to. It lists workspace which I think are 3dview shortcuts, point edit, link editor, animation view, global and uv editor as the different groups the shortcuts go into.

I started using the word shortcut instead of hotkey since that's what truespace and the manual use.
