Hi all, hop someone could help with the following queries:

1)

Is there an easy way to create a rectangular primitive with rounded corners (just 4 corners, not all edges rounded)?

Or if not by primitive, does this need to be sketched out and extruded?

2)

What is the best way to dynamically scale in 2 axis at the same time (i can only scale in 1 axis at present using the widget?)

For example, I would like to select the top face of a rectangle and scale in X & Y together to create 4 tappered sides to the rectangle (the bottom face remains as original size)?

Kind regards,

J

Well both of these can be managed relatively easily on the model side, but I can't say whether the same is true for Workspace as I'm not using that yet.

For the first query, you can either create a rounded cuboid and then do a boolean to slice out just the middle section (either boolean subtract the top and bottom of the object using another cuboid, or intersect a slice through the middle) or you could create a regular cuboid shape and apply the fillet tool to just the edges you want rounded.

Similarly, scaling a face in several axes is fairly simple in model-side using the point-edit tools (select face, use scaling tool in appropriate axis mode - I tend to use scale in screen axis and orthogonal view most of the time).

Like I said, don't know how much of this can be done in workspace but this might get you by... good luck.

Couldn't you lock the z axis and only select the top face to scale using the scale tool? Modeler and workSpace work the same here.

Hi all, thanks for the reply

The scale button works proportionatly when both mouse buttons butons are held down - thanks for that

Wihe regards to the filleting, I am only familiar with Workspace side so far, but i have just tried on the model side and the fillet function works perfectly

Could anyone say if this function is available on the Workspace side (I can only see the bezel tool, not fillet)?

Thanks again for the help
