You need to add edges, rather than take them away :)

The render engine can't figure the direction of the face at present, because it is what is called an "n-gon" (a face with "n" edges, where n is greater than 3 or 4). Remake the face by dividing it up so that none of the faces making it up have more than 4 edges (quads are probably best to aim for).

The result you see here is the face is too complex, and maybe not flat, which makes it impossible for the render engine to work out what the surface is. It triangulates it itself, which results in these visible triangles. Helping it out by doing the division manually should allow you to avoid the result.

HTH!

I've seen this and sometimes just redoing the normals by using Auto Facet Norml tool, Smooth Normal tool or Facet Normal too will correct this in WS. At times normals don't update correctly with retriangulation and this will do it. Let me know if this helps.

Who else is trying not to make a wrinkle cream joke?

After trying the good suggestions already offered, try putting the glasses in a surrounding scene so there is actually something to reflect besides a simple colored background.... a tabletop, a wall, a window, etc.
