hi leonregis.

Pretty much all of that stuff can be done on the Model side. Particles: trueparticles, for particles, and smoke even. You need to add a 'smoky' texture to the particle system.

I see a video on Youtube, the guy says: A CGI sequence I created a few years ago in trueSpace, recreating aerial combat between two Hawker Hurricanes and some Ju 87 Stukas.

I want to know if this is created in the TS and what it the Version!

Yep that was tS, either 5 or 6 given the age. It might have been in one of our newsletters - I think this is the same video http://www.caligari.com/Store/Special/news_jan03/cp_jan03.html#bent_christian_samuelsen

I haven't had a chance to watch the video, but it sounds familiar.

I think pyrocluster was used. I do not believe it is available for purchase anymore though. There were issues with Pyrocluster and 7.0/7.51/7.6. It only works on Model side. The emitter tended to go in all kinds of wacko directions, but there was a fix for that.

It was a great video, I did like the compositing of the real footage and CG stuff. Primal Particles or Primal Particles FX might help achieve some of the effects, though I do think Pyrocluster was used here.

Note that PPFX is post process, which means the particle objects won't appear in reflections, won't cast shadows etc, but they will properly occlude objects in the scene. While it tends toward less realistic than Pyrocluster (though with work it can still be realistic), it does tend toward being easier to use, and faster to render, so there are pros as well as cons.
