Hi
I am doing chapter 21 in the Video tutorial at http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts5/Courses/NewCharacterModeling.asp?Cate=Training&SubCate=Older which is about Character Design.
The author after showing how to make a shirt does not show the whole process of how he colored it, as well as the body. I assume, though he used the Material Editor. I tried applying desired color to the sphere in the Material Editor Window and then dragging it onto the (selected) shirt, which I had selected.
In another tutorial, South Park Reloaded, different parts including the body & clothing where colored that way, but the character was made differently.
In this case, however, the whole body, including the non-selected portion gets colored.
How do I restrict the color to the selected part or body?
This is what it looks like, when with the shirt selected:

The chapter before ends with the shirt being made & the next chapter already has both, ie. including the body colored.
Could there be another way to achieve this, in case I'm doing it wrongly?
I'd be grateful for a quick response as this is holding me up from continuing.
Thanks |

use the paint brush icon in the material editor to paint just selected sections, as soon as you click it they should change colour |
