I know how to make backfaces show in Workspace, but can it also be done on Modeler side? I think I've lost what little hair I had left trying to find out how to do it. My luck it will be something really simple:confused::confused::confused: |

As far as I can tell you can't make the back faces show as solid except when rendering.:( |

I think he means being able to see the backface of a 2D object, such as a plane, in realtime. Example: you cut off half the sphere and look inside and see nothing because it's backfaces, rotate around some and you can see the "front" of the faces. I think he's asking if there is a way to make the "back sides" visible like the front. |

In my first example pic the top face of the cube has been removed and I have the opposite backface selected.
If I had un-ticked the 'backface' checkbox I would be unable to select it.
So, I guess I'm asking the OP if it's a display issue or a selection issue, and if either of these two examples help clear up his question. |

In the Workspace side there is an option to show backfaces (ones that are facing away from the current view angle and since the normals are not facing where you are looking would not be visible). I attached an image showing this option. I was just curious to whether there was an equivilant option for the Modeler side. It's not really that important, since I understand the Modeler side will be going away eventually and all the tols moved over to the Workspace side, so I am really concentrating on learning modeling on that side anyway. I am mainly just curious, since i am just trying to learn to model and I want to know everything I possibly can about TrueSpace.
I tried once before with a previous free cpy of an older TS and just couldn't wrap my head around the interface so gave up. When They made TS 7.6 free, I decided to try again, and the more I play with it, I do like it. And you can't beat the price. No way I could ever afford 3DS Max or Maya and I looked at Blender and deleted it after about 5 minutes.
Anyway, as I said, it's mainly just a matter of curiousity and not a major thing at all. |
