Everything seems to be working fine with TS 7.6 except when I try to render, the scene (or object) renders correctly, but after the scan, the screen turns white and the object "washes out"...

I obviously have a parameter set wrong but can't figure out where to look for the solution ? Help?

Thanks

What render engine? Modeler or Workspace?

Yes, same questions, what render engine, and is this render to screen or render to file? Is it saved that way in file when using render to file?

My first thought is that you are using Lightworks, have post-process enabled with Tone Mapping, which reworks the contrast of the final image and could make it too bright. You say the object "washes out" rather than actually turns totally white, which makes me suspect this. Turn off tone mapping if on, or adjust the settings if you do want to use it (personally I would render without it, then simply edit the image appropriately in a 2D package afterward, with all the finer control and undo history that brings, saving the need to re-render if you don't like the result).

HTH!

In the Model work space...

The object doesn't disappear, it first appears to render correctly, then undergoes a rapid second rendering with the background being washed out and the objects color being "lightened".

Definitely sounds like Tone Mapping is on....

EDIT PS - or lens flare it could do that too. Or volumetrics. One of the post process settings though.

That was it Tom...

I was using the Light works renderer...

When I switched over to the virtuallight.tsr the problem went away...

Thanks everyone for your help...

Perhaps I can return the favor a little bit...

I am into mechanical design with Truespace (started using it with Caligari on the Amiga, when you had to use a "dongle" and renderings took hours..)

A good source of hardware 3d models is Machine Design's CAD Library.

It's relatively easy to import ready made hardware into trueSpace using the 3ds format..

But again.. Much thanks..

Oh yes... BTW,

I found the Lightworks render preferences and tone mapping WAS checked..

Now both render'ers work correctly..

Again much thanks

No problem, that's what the community is here for! Thanks for sharing that link, should be interesting to those in that line of work (or play).

Thanks!
