Is it possible to insert 3-4 jpegs (front view, rear view, side views), weld them together, and add a skeleton to create a BVH character.....thus eliminating the pre-existing character mesh taffy pull and painting headache ? It would be soooo nice to cut corners and not make creating one character a lifetime project (however, I am still green and haven't put in much exploration yet).

Nope, it's not yet that easy to make a character, texture and rig him... somethings you still have to do the old fashioned way :) There are some shortcuts but not that short :D

Good luck.

Such a program would just about take over the world....;)

Actually, it had been done with face recognition (I managed to get a pretty good head model from a front and side view which is my avatar). Forget what is is called!

There are a few that let you get a model from photographs but you need quite a few for good quality.
