Hi All,

I have a character I am in the process of developing. I had added and attached a skeleton before I decided I wanted to go back and change a load of features. I found it easier to roll back to a previous "un-boned" version, and edit that, with the intention of extracting the skeleton of the other version and re-attaching to the re-edited character (if that makes sense  ).

However, everytime I try and attach the skeleton Truespace(6.6) crashes out completely. Does this happen for anyone else? I'm not sure if it is an error in my character geometry (Is there a easy way to identify this? ) that is causing this, or the method I am using to attach the skin (Just selecting skeleton, then "attach to skin", then clicking on the character). I have quickly tryed to add a new skeleton from scratch, which seems to work !

Any help, or ideas would really help,

Thanks in advance.

Is it one mesh? Or is it a glued together mesh ? You may get in trouble when you try to attach a glued object to the skeleton. Attach skin should be done with one single mesh only. Attach the rest with attach to bone.

Besides that, it can have several reasons. TS Bones are extremely buggy. One's for sure: a once destroyed skeleton will stay destroyed. And when it doesn't like the attach skin command i would think that it is destroyed ( upper case out) . I would suggest to rebuild the skeleton then. Or grab the skeleton before you attached the skin the first time.

Hi Tiles,

The object is just one mesh with SS. It looks like I wil have to create my skeleton again, which is a shame as I had set all the limits, etc.

It's good to know it's not just me though !

Thanks.

SDS? Try to convert it to solid. Maybe this will solve it :)
