ok I know how to set the axis and movie it around.. my problem is when I set my axis to the center of what I want to rotate and boolean some more objects to it TS delets the axis and then I am stuck with trying to manual put the axis in the center..and on top of that the x,y,z are truned differently. is there any way to keep my axis where I put it even after I boolean?

Lets say you have 3 items; A,B and C.
A is where the axis of rotation should be. Be sure to select "A" before the boolean union; next select B and then C. It's axis should remain.
As far as the axis being oriented 'incorrectly'; When the object is created it has an axis. If you rotate that object, it rotates about it's axis (and the axis rotates as well)
