Hi
What is the best profile to use with a GForce QUADRO FX3000 and TS 7.11 ?
Didn't find anything about TS in the Application Profile of NVidia Drivers.
My Forceware version is 91.74
Thanks

Hi.. i dont know to much the quadro driver from Nvidia... but yes i know are some profiles to many 3d softwares like maya etc..
The profiles are optimized to work with OpenGL.. over those programs...
If you run Truespace you must know TS7.11 works over DirectX, you can choose over Model OpenGl.. but over player you can only work with DirectX..
And the my answer is, i dont think you need a profile to get your truespace work well.. With a Quadro 3000 you can handle a big scene and you dont worry... |

Thanks prodigy but I have some flicking pb with the TS7.11 Player ...
Caligari must provide the best settings with NVIDIA or ATI drivers
EDIT : I think Quadro card are best with OpenGL

Yup, Quadro its optimized for Work with OpenGl.. but you must think the OpenGl its not better than DirectX.. less directx10...
Think that.. in the windows vista the openGl its not supported any more...
But with a big presure of Nvidia over microsoft they gonna "support" now... but i dont think for more long time.. Something like "Monopoly" of DirectX
Whatever..
One thing.. "flicking pb with the TS7.11 Player ..."
You dont say over the floor na??? beause that happend when you add a plane o z0x0y0 and you have the ts floor enabled..
If the flick its over all the scene... yup maybe are a driver problem.. im gonna try to see the driver options... maybe can help
Best Regards.. |

If your curious I also have a workstation card, ATI FireGL X1, that does the same. It's a good card lets me handle a good amount of poly's though if I use Maya I see a significant improvement about 1 1/2 to 2 times. Though the card you have is better than mine.
The thing with Opengl at the moment is that it's gonna go through changes within the year Opengl 3.0/4.0 (Even they(Kronos) didn't decide yet lol)? |

In fact NVIDIA driver is the most important point here ...
that happend when you add a plane z0x0y0 and you have the ts floor enabled..

The best support for OpenGL card is XSI with their Gygapolygon technology, I have made some test with Foundation and Wow ... it's far better than modo.

Hey that's the pb ... thanks Prodigy it's all right now
Your welcome!!..
Realy i test TS on a dual opteron with a quadro4500 and works good.. but its a fact.. Quadro its focus on maya xsi... even max.. and realy.. i never spend that money on a quadro because the Grafic card its not who render a scene.. i think its better buy a good gc, like 6600 6800 7800 or the new 8800 and a better proccesor to make renders faster and faster...
Now thith the DX10 offer on the Nvidia 8800 ... WOW.. you can make 3d and play amazing games!! for 600 $ ... Quadro cost up 1xxx... |

For the QUADRO GFX card --> I bought it 1 year ago on Ebay for 500 $ ;)
Don't need more power with my 2 computers dual Xeon ... one with QUADRO the other with an old Radeon 9700.
