Hello,

In tS7, I am trying to make a simulation of objects in a water environment, where a current knocks the objects into one another. But I am having a problem with a much simpler issue.

I cannot make key frames from the simulation. I've been able to make a starting and stopping keyframe, but this doesn't work because it lacks all the key frames in between which reflects the objects bumping into each other. My current end resulty has the objects floating through one another.

I've tryed to do the simple tutorial from the manual (6.7.7 pg. 794). I follow each step but when i look at the keyframe editor after the simualtion. No keyframes are recorded. I have the bridge turned on, and the PhysEngine set to "Save Anim." I feel like if I could make this simple tutorial function, I'd be able to make the more complex water animation work.

I'd love any recomendations anyone can give me.

Thanks,

Gazo

I just ran through that tutorial and all is well here. From the look of your post, I would check that you have assigned Physical Attributes to your objects. Also you need to do this in say DualView. Where you have both Modeler and Player open when recording.

I am working in dual view and have applied Physical Attributes to my objects. When I hit the Start/Stop button for simulation, The ojects move and interact like they should, but no key frames are created in my scene editor.

I only other thing I can think of is right click the Record button in the Scene Editor and make sure each item is checked that you would like to have recorded. Also in the Stack view in Preferences, make sure Support Model procedural animation is checked.

Yep, that was it. I was missing hitting the correct record button before hitting the start simulation button.

Thanks,

If using Player side physical simulation you must have a model view open on screen for keyframes to be recorded. It's detailed on page 794 of the Artist's Guide.

EDIT: Just re-read this and saw the comments about dualview - just made the connection you meant Player and Model windows visible and not a dual screen layout. D'oh!
