Hello everyone,

I spent a few hours fencing a terrain I made. I made a "fence block" and textured it with a wood bitmap. I saved the wooden fence block as a library item and even exported the .rsobj file. I then dragged this library item onto my terrain and began copying it to fence the terrain. For most of this operation, I used Dual View. However, when I reopened the scene the next day, the wooden texture is gone on all fence blocks. I spent a lot of time setting up the wooden fence just the way I wanted, and have no desire to do so again. Does anyone have any idea how this might have happened? So far, this is the only problem I've had with version 7.1 (well, that and not being able to export VRML files). So, if I have to reapply the texture, is there an easy way to do it for all objects (note: each fence block consists of six cubes, with the wood texture and UV mapping applied individually to each, so it is a lot of trouble doing this for more than 30 thirty of these)? Thanks for any info.

The UV mapping should still be present. So if you have only used one texture, just paint the whole object. When saving objects to libraries, I recommend to glue objects before doing so. There is also a free plugin called "poly combiner". It glues objects together as if it was one single mesh (without hirarchie). This speeds up work in truespace a lot, if you have a scene with many objects.

I don't know why the texture disappeared after saving to the library.

Hi , could you post one of the objects with the missing texture if you still have it, I would like to take a look at it.

Does the texture display in the player but not in the model window.

I suspect here that the texture information has not crossed the bridge and the material is not being found by the model ME.

I would know more if I can look at the object.

thanks
