I'm trying to do a simple animation that just won't render as an animation. It's only 60 frames and when I try to render I get the same frame 60 times. The camera view is active when I enter the render settings. My render options are AVI/ 320 x 200 / All Frames 0 to 60 / Frame rate 30. I have successfully rendered animations in 6.6, but the same procedure in 7.1 is getting me no where. Here is a screen cap of my scene. Any help would be appreciated.

You wouldn't happen to be rendering in VRay would you? Although everything is setup and performed in the Model view, VRay actually renders what can be seen from the Player view. Now, in order to translate everything from Model to Player, the Bridge must be enabled, so if you disable the Bridge and render with VRay, you will get the same frame repeated since the Player is not being updated from the Model side for each new frame. I note you are in Full layout which disables Bridge by default, so this could be true.

Of course, it is possible you are rendering to VRay and have the Bridge enabled but something has gone pretty wrong and the Bridge has failed. If that's the case then your scene would be of interest to Caligari to troubleshoot.....

If you are not rendering to VRay then nothing has changed since tS6.6 - you should still render exactly the same as you used to withing LightWorks and now VirtuaLight.

Thanks. I do have Vray and that seems to be what the problem is. I haven't dabbled much in the player side yet but I guess I'll have to in order to use Vray for animations.

Thanks again.

you don't have to dabble in the Player, just know that Vray renders whatever is shown in the Player and the Player requires the Bridge to be functioning in order to synchronise with the Model view. Also that Full layout is an approximation to tS6.6 so the Bridge is mostly disabled (though it should auto synchronise when rendering).

If you swap to Default layout when rendering that might help.
