Is there a technique in TS7 that will evenly divide a ploygon face into N number of faces. If I wanted a rectangular polygon divided in two along its long axis, how would this be done?

currently I've been using the quad divide and then deleting faces and adding faces until i get to the proper polygon division i was looking for. This method is very tedious and I end up with lots of extra verts where the unwanted perpendicular edges once were.

Also, in other applications i was able to bevel or chamfer an edge. I've become quite used to doing so now, is there anything similar in TS7 that would give me the same effect. The attached image shows the effect i'm looking for. the highlighted edges were, just one click ago, a single edge in line with the other edges.

Thanks

Alex

Can't you just use the bevel and chamfer tools in the TS7 PE toolbar (with the sweep, booleans etc.) ??...

To get the bevel type your asking for somebody will have to figure out how to code it in 7(though it maybe around as a plug-in), because the type your looking for have never been in TS. The bevel your looking for is generally only seen in Open Modelling software. Currently ts7 isn't an Open Modeller, but the Caligari Team has stated that they will be making it an Open Modeller within a few updates.

splinters, those are multi-step techniques where only 1 step with this type of bevel is needed(click, drag, releases sets the bevel/chamfer), unless they rebuilt the bevel and chamfer tools from the bottom up(which I haven't heard of). So why use 10-15 button clicks when only 2-3 are needed? Afterall Bevels and Chamfers are power tools that shorten the work involved. ;)

edge, face and vertex bevel are planned for Player after 7.1 is out. So you will get it with 7.5 or with another patch after 7.1 (if there will be).

That sounds really good!

I'm also glad to see the new selection tools in 7.1 player - expand, contract, and especially invert selection, are all very welcome additions. trueSpace7 is definitely showing useful improvements in all the right places! :)
