Howdy,

I've been out of the trueSpace scene for a long while, I used to use versions 2-4, and might even have version 5 laying around ( still need to go digging through my old CD's ) Right now I'm playing around with the 6.6 demo, and considering buying version 7.

Anyway, I was playing around wtih the IK joints, and getting the hang of it back ( no, it's not like riding a bike ) But it looks like the IK joints settings are locked into the 0-360 degree range.

Is there any way to open up an IK joint so it will spin freely? such as a wheel or a gear?

Thanks

Troy

Probably NOT a good idea to do whatever it is you wish with IK.....

hmm, if IK is not a good idea for this, could you suggest a better way?

wait, I have an idea, what about building a rotor or bearing?

like, a cylinder inside a clyinder.

I'd have to make it pretty precise though, so it doesn't wobble.

madCoder: If I were animating a spinning gear, I would simply set the gear object's axis to center and keyframe the rotation on one axis. This would give wobble-free spinning.

Hope that helps!
