Hi again. I have many questions, but will limit it to one today. :)

I noticed when I'm repositioning an object, it goes along smoothly and then jumps several squares. I end up having to use the object description box to position it by hand. This is quite annoying as I haven't figured out the non-intuitive directions to go in tS.

Is it my mouse that is causing the problem? Or some other factor.

The basic machine Im using is a self build.

AMD Athlon 3000+ (can be overclocked and I've tried overclocking and doesn't seem to make a difference, I just move faster but it still jumps.)

- Processor x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~1809 Mhz

- NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache(TM) Adapter RAM 256.00 MB , PCI-E, latest forceware drivers from NVIDIA.

The mouse is a generic P/S2 mouse that came with the keyboard.

I also have a Dell 8300 P4, 3.0, HT, with 1 gb ram. It has a slower time than the AMD on tests.

Would a better mouse help?

Thanks again for any advice.

Not sure what is going on, but I used my Dell 8300 P4 3.0 ghz and had no problems with the mouse as I did on the AMD 3000+.

So, I guess I will use the P4 Dell to design and the AMD 3000 to render.

My apologies for taking up forum space. :(

Was it the same mouse on both machines?
If not, try swapping them and see if the problem persists.
If it does, then perhaps the solution is as simple as cleaning the 'sticky' one or replacing it with a better mouse.

Yeah, same monitor and same mouse. I'm using a KVM switch and just switch between computers so I can share mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers. Belkin brand so no problems with it yet.

Not sure why tS6.6 doesn't like my AMD. The AMD blasted my P4 Dell on all performance speed tests. So I'm not sure what exactly the problem could be.
