ok - time to vote!!! Once again, I want to thank all the people who participated in this month's challenge. And I want to encourage everyone to vote weather or not you participated in the modeling.
The vote will go for one week and that will give the weekend for the winner to pick the next subject
before next month starts.
Here are the entries. Because a couple of people have been having problems rendering I will allow a
new final render from each of them if that is ok with everyone else.

Wow! :)
Nice work everybody. I like them ALL and it is going to be a tough vote.
Kena you may have to extend the time for voting. ;) |

:D half the fun of voting is the time limit. You spend an hour or so comparing the final renders - take a comparison of the WIPs and decide which one you learn the most from or that seems to have the best workflow... Then tentatively make a decision based on all the factors you can come up with.
Then watch as the numbers climb for the best choice based on a community of like-minded people.
Just gives me those "warm and fuzzies"

Many congratulations to all the entrants for producing such a fine body of work for this months MMC. The imagery is quite fantastic and I have really enjoyed following all the WIP threads. Rest assured I will put as much effort in to my voting consideration as you have with your modelling. I must echo the other comments and agree that this month the decision will be tougher than ever. Good luck all and thanks again for your contribution to the competition and the community. |

With just a few days left, just wanted to give the reminder that these would make great contest entries, either for the Image gallery, or for the Virtual Earth gallery. I'd love to see some of these castles dotted in various places around the world (or for those that are based on actual structures, to see them in their proper place).
This has been one of the best MMCs in terms of both the sheer number of entries, and in the quality too. Also great to see a good turn out for the vote!
Thanks!

Wow! 42 votes :D
2 second places even :D
Everyone had some great modeling here. I wish we could have voted more than once.
Congratulations theuns, and to all. Very tough competition.

Indeed, and well done theuns, you seem to be on a bit of a role, winning the double...
will be very interesting to see what you come up with for the next MMC :D
Want to say a big well done to MikeJoel too - awesome work for TS3.2. Actually, I have to admit to being wryly amused that the two of us who've come joint second are both using older versions of tS... hopefully we'll be able to upgrade in the near future! |

Nice going Theuns, very clever work for this challenge.
All the entries submitted were a delight watching the Artist use different techniques and styles to attack the challenge.
I also hope we learned that "Time" can catch up with us and get into future Challenges early.
Evidently not everyone here has entered the main "Gallery" since I see a bunch of Tom's post for submissions. I tried the Virtual Earth route and they better post better instructions. The whole process felt like a root canal. They have to post better instructions if they want submissions. I will post my findings somewhere else.
It was fun competing with this group of admired and talented trueSpace users. This Challenge proved that software doesn't make the Artist, it just makes the job easier. |

Instructions given in a sticky on the forums a few days ago for that very reason :)
Re-writing the gallery system would take a while, but at least this step-by-step with screen grabs is a bit of anaesthetic for the root canal (did you HAVE to mention dentists, gah!)

Thanks Steinie :)
Very true about the 'tool to make the job easier'... since now that I think about it, I didn't use any new feature tools of 7.6 or even 6.6 that was not in 3.2, so I could have made my image in 3.2 as well...
Better tools just shortens the time it takes to realize your idea or design, after all, we are all artists here, just with a technological twist perhaps ;) |

Sorry. My cable was out last night, and I just got it back up
Contrats to theuns!!! you have until Monday to set up the new challenge!!!
second place - Nez and MikeJoel
third place jayr.
Everyone did a really good job, and I cannot think why some people didn't get votes. But that happens in every challenge we have.
Over to you theuns! |

I almost did that yesterday Kena, but then I thought rather not, keep it clean, let September MMC start in September, although it already was September for my for the past 7 hours before the clock struck midnight at Caligari office ;) |
