"MikeJoel - geographic badge" ?? lol. I guess no one got the idea. There was an old Dick Van Dyke show in which his wife is given a very ugly broach, which is a map of the US with gems for each family birth place.... I haven't seen the shows in years but thought of that.

Mike - I thought it was a map of the US but didn't want to embarass myself saying that and getting it wrong... guess I just embarassed myself but not checking and getting it right either :rolleyes: I certainly haven't seen the show you're referring to... |

Well done Mike, not at all suprised to see you pick up a win, from the last few challenges it was clearly only a matter of time...
Will be interested to see what subject you pick, though don't know whether I'll be able to join in yet as not going to be around much over the next few weeks... |

Obviously I have never done this before, so...
Do I set the deadline for a week from when I open the challenge? And the poll opens for a week after that?
I've been looking over all the suggestions in Nez's topic trying to come up with something.

Well, notionally it's up to you, but folks generally allow at least a full week for the modelling etc (including a full weekend ideally) and allow around a week (or thereabouts) for voting - I think I only gave 6 days for the voting as I knew I wouldn't be anywhere near a computer tomorrow and the next few days, so I wouldn't be able to do the 'admin' at the end of the vote for ages if it didn't finish today....
There's been some suggestion that voting be kept a bit shorter to move things along quickly but I think it needs to be at least 5 days and include a whole weekend for those folks who only get on the web at weekends...
It's certainly getting harder to choose a subject, but there are some good ones in the suggestions thread... |

Congrats Mike on your SMC win in what was yet another tightly fought contest. In addition, a big well done to Noko for his runner-up slot and to everybody else who entered; their was some terrific work on display. |
