Ack! WWW has entered the BSOD (blue screen of death)!!!
Hopefully, we'll be immune by invoking the misery spirit of computer corruption.
Excellent entry Changa. Always liked those style of windows. Excellent job on curtain design!

Yes indeed, It's all about choices.
It was the Liquid and Solid waste viewing window
or the
Post mortem puppy, kitty and bunny blender view through Cremation Cam
The Flour Factory beetle and larvae separator technician magnifying window
Seeping wounds and pustulating sores medical examiner window
The cockroach and rodent tracking restaurant viewing window
and so forth...

HAHAHAHAHA !
You forgot to mention that most part of the model must be
modeled in Truespace (no rules good rules !!!)!
1,5 hours for a window......
made that thing in 7 minutes but not in Truespace:p
Thats a NURBS theme and with the right tools its easy :D
Out of contest but shows the simple workflow !
Its a gif...

no no no cant remember having seen something like
that before:D:D:D hahahaha !!!
No just the 1.5 hours modelwork encouraged me to show you how
it can be done with nurbs tools in about 7 minutes....
because this is a speed model contest I just couldnt hold back
with it !
After all its all about showing to people other workflow !

Ah, but the 1.5 hour model work included 5 retakes! I always include my restarts in my modeling time. Since I had not done that window before, It took longer. also, YOU try to make a decent corner on the bottom of the window by extruding! that one was taking so long, I had to pop to model side and just use some boolien subtraction. |

From Answers.com
Windows Definiton
Just a friendly reminder ..(ahem)
An opening constructed in a wall or roof that functions to admit light or air to an enclosure and is often framed and spanned with glass mounted to permit opening and closing.
A framework enclosing a pane of glass for such an opening; a sash.
A pane of glass or similar material enclosed in such a framework.
An opening that resembles a window in function or appearance.
The transparent panel on a window envelope.
The area or space immediately behind a window, especially at the front of a shop.
A means of access or observation: St. Petersburg was Peter the Great's window onto the Baltic.
An interval of time during which an activity can or must take place: a brief window of opportunity for a space mission; a window of vulnerability during which the air force was subject to attack.
Strips of foil dropped from an aircraft to confuse enemy radar; chaff.
A range of electromagnetic frequencies that pass unobstructed through a planetary atmosphere.
Computer Science. A rectangular area on the screen that displays its own file or message independently of the other areas of the screen.
Aerospace.
A launch window.
An area at the outer limits of the earth's atmosphere through which a spacecraft must pass in order to return safely.
[Middle English, from Old Norse vindauga : vindr, air, wind + auga, eye.]
WORD HISTORY The source of our word window is a vivid metaphor. Window comes to us from the Scandinavian invaders and settlers of England in the early Middle Ages. Although we have no record of the exact word they gave us, it was related to Old Norse vindauga, “window,” a compound made up of vindr, “wind,” and auga, “eye,” reflecting the fact that at one time windows contained no glass. The metaphor “wind eye” is of a type beloved by Norse and Old English poets and is called a kenning; other examples include oar-steed for “ship” and whale-road for “sea.” Recently we have restored to the 800-year-old word window a touch of its poetic heritage, using it figuratively in such phrases as launch window, weather window, and window of opportunity or vulnerability.
Microsoft Windows
And thousands of other Window metaphors... |

Installed TS on my office machine and threw something together but can't get it to render. VRay is crashing every time with memory usage going through the roof.
ARGH.
If I have time, will try the DX materials. |

I'm guessing maybe a postscript file eg Illustrator etc that's been swept? Certainly intrigued to know the answer as it's a lot of delicate detail... I'd been thinking about trying a church-type window but had to work through lunch today, so I'm not going toget a chance now before the deadline anyway - probably just as well now... |
