Choosing this subject I mean any interior decorative thing like vase, statuette, african mask or photo frame. I hope it will be interesting to everebody irrespective of model skills. Deadline is 10/01/2008 (10th of January) - enought time to recreate after the holidays:D Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

I did a decorative Wall unit, but I also included two vases and a stone bowl just in case you don't count the wall unit. :D

Deadline is 10/01/2008 - enough time to recreate after the holidays:D Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

I'll say!! October of 2008 gives 10 months to work on it!!! ;)

I think you may have meant 01/01/2008, but I really think you should make it 01/03/2008 in case anyone wants to model whatever they hallucinated from what they drank on the first.

:jumpy:

Now... I'm very rarely the first to post something in these things, so where is everyone else's' entries?

Or maybe it was just in the more sensible format of day/month/year!

Thanks man..that picture you see is the actual one above our fireplace. Infact that is our fireplace with the excpetion of the rock work. I was having a hard time getting the rocks to look like ours, and since I was running out of time I just put up a nice texture.

Thanks Kena, I had this lamp on my desk for many years, it has an amazing balance, but one day it fell on the floor and was damaged beyond repair. This is a sort of tribute :D

I like your caustics render, I have not touched that yet, so much to learn!

I learned most of my Caustics in This Thread (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=3097) In the WIP forum. Another good reason to use the WIP forum. So many people to help you out. :D

I had not seen that thread, thanks for pointing it out Kena, very informative.

Daybe, Impressive chandelier, and very professional layout of render and wires. you even made the fixtures although they will probably never show. I like that. I am lazy and usually stick to what you don't see you don't get.

nice olive wreath Dragneye. I would have made the olives smaller, but your version looks very good in gold. :D

Thanx kena. I really tried to stick to the original, but ran out of time in putting the pieces together, so... dat's life. Will try to take a photo of original tomorrow, so we can all see the comparison.

I have to say, I learn so much by seeing the entries to the SMC's.
Many of these items reminded me of items (and times) in my life. Seeing the meshes alongside the finished render is very instructive for me!

I liked every one of them in different ways and it's always hard for me to choose! :)
