Guess I'm late with the poll... I'm sorry, I don't have a lot of time these days.
Now let me see if I can get this poll right...
Voting will end on Thursday, March 15 at 13:00 GMT... I guess. |

lol Prodigy. It's a peculiar children's rhyme in English to pick a winner psuedo-randomly.
Eeney meeney miney moe
Catch a tiger by the toe
If he hollers let him go
Eeney meeny miney moe
On each word you point to another entry. The one you finally point at on the last word is the winner. Some add the following to make it more interesting
If he hollers make him pay
50 dollars every day
My mother told me to choose the very best one and you are not IT!
Then the chosen is eliminated from the group and the round begins again until there's a final winner left. Several variations on this of course. Relies on the fact that us kids are bad at math and don't realize there's a constant number of words. |

Congrats hemulin!
I'd be more interested in seeing that thing in action... kinda like using unusual words in a sentence, I want to see you use that in a scene! :D

They were ALL good! Stiff competition now...makes me want to go back to a number 2 pencil...;)
Here is something I have noticed and maybe it's not so bad. The rules haven't been followed. Sometimes there is more than one object included or the wireframe is a separate rendering. Change the rules or follow them? It seems like each contest the rules are stretched more. No one else has said anything so I guess no big deal. Why have the rules then?
Hemulin, your in charge what do you want to do? Theres even winners that according to the rules would disqualify it.
So here are my questions:
1) Does the wireframe need to be part of the composition or separate entry?
2) The rules says the "object" may be used as many times as you like. Are other objects allowed? If it is a "Candle" can you have a "Table"?
3) When do the rules apply?
4) I hate rules
5) I liked all the winners so it's not about that. |

I don't mind allowing one final rendering per entry but I do think allowing a separate image for the mesh would be ok. The final rendering is for result, the mesh image is to see how it was accomplished. Sometimes it's easier to see the mesh when it's a full size image, which leads to better learning value. Also, making the wireframe a part of the final image requires people to blend or cut the two together in Photoshop or *gasp!* MS Paint! Not a huge deal but sometimes "easier is better" especially when part of the goal is to have people worry only about being judged for the model.
I think what most folks want to avoid is a string of 10-12 images from one participant that would prevent the voters from getting a fair and equal representation of the whole.
On the flip side, having the mesh as part of the final render would allow it to be seen in the online gallery... so maybe this isn't such a bad idea. |

No worries, I won't be entering any contests on this forum or tS contests of any kind.
Although the rules specifically state you can enter as often as you want.

First of all, thank you everybody.....
1) Does the wireframe need to be part of the composition or separate entry?
I don't think so (but then i'm biased as mine wasn't). I think it is more important for the wireframe to be large enough for people to make use of it (ie understand how it was created) than just to be convenient.
2) The rules says the "object" may be used as many times as you like. Are other objects allowed? If it is a "Candle" can you have a "Table"?
I think an object can sometimes be better judged when it's in its surroundings, though this doesn't mean that the other objects should effect the vote. I think the "object" should be the focus of the image.
3) When do the rules apply?
Hehe, well.......erm.........
Btw, should i start the new challenge today, on monday, or in the middle of the week like before (sorry i was a bit late in choosing a new challenge) |

I think the emphasis should be on the object specified, however if you want to put other things in the scene the model time must be negligible otherwise people will judge the image on the other objects too, and then it becomes unfair.
I think there is a fine line between what is ok to put in and what isn't. |

I think that if other objects are in the scene then they should count towards the modeling time. The one time I did that so far, I counted the time. Granted the mantel and mirror in the scene with my clock were simple, but they added to the image and so therefore counted.

I'm not talking about entering several different models, each one made in under 2 hours. I'm talking about having several rendered images of the same model posted as one entry. Hope that clears things up.
I agree with the "objects in scene count towards modelling" concept. May make pics a little less spectacular but it will keep them be on a level field for judging. |

Sorry but how much take load a object??
Its like my Image Rueda Gigante..Whats happend if i add a rollercoster behind.. because i have a nice model.. I add people walking because i have people walking.. Whats happend if i add birds...because i have few birds models..
I can load all in less 5 minutes.. and i think the image can be more impresive..
I allways limit my MODELING to the object.. but not loading objects from a library.. i think its not fair.. |
