To tell you the truth, I don't really know. It just looked like a good thing to model. I read somewhere it (dichroics/dichroism) has something to do with splitting light though.
Aaah, the rodent wheel, nice on Vizu |

Dichroism - Pleochroism of a crystal so that it exhibits two different colours when viewed from two different directions. I bothered to look it up so thought I'd share! :-)
I was going to do a hamster wheel. Damn. |

Render time, lighting and texturing are NOT included. It is only the modelling that must be done within 2 hours. |

Very nice, Prodigy. I had thought about doing a Ferris Wheel as well but wanted to start off with a couple things I knew I could do in the time limit (and I think a Ferris Wheel could quite possibly take me longer than that.) Yours looks fantastic. |

Its easy tomakeit.. but yes. need lot of work..
By the way.. i choose a ferris whell but my other option was..... (maybe someone are looking a nice weel idea) .. a water wheel.. its easy. but you must know about water texturing. Maybe Wiz@rd be the person.. :) |

Here's my entry - a Roulette Wheel. I took the whole 2 hours to get the model to here - there was more detail I wanted to add but it's so easy to get carried away. ;) I had to settle for a texture map for the numbers, so that may be considered a bit of a cheat?
I wouldn't think that would be considered a cheat... heck, I think that's how most real roulette wheels do the numbers.
Nice job! |

Entries are looking great so far! Hope to get started myself on Sunday though I can see it's going to be tough competition already. I do this for fun though so an entry will be forthcoming regardless :)
Already have an idea but it's fairly common and I'm surprised no one has done it yet. Maybe I'll get it out there first. Maybe not but "wheel see" :)

I was unsure - the numbers are one of the defining parts of the wheel so I wanted them to count in the model - Like Prodigy's watch model from a few weeks back - rather than use a bitmap, but hey, this is just fun. :D
Very nice job dude.. incredible work.. :D
Thank you - I must admit to admiring your work - don't know how you have the time to contribute as much as you do!
Cheers. |
