Wow, the powers that be have opened up a new gallery in truePlace for the Speed Modelling Challenge winners pics - how cool is that! Hopefully it'll help it continue to grow.
A big congrats to Daybe who started the whole thing off, you must be feeling rather chuffed! |

We understand the desire to keep it from getting "too big" and "too formal", but we did also want to recognise the great work people do as part of this contest, and give some reward to the community for starting this up and maintaining it. It's something we look forward to every two weeks or so, seeing the latest contest entries come in, and then seeing the voting.
We thought that a 3D gallery space would be a good way to show the winners, and hopefully act as a reward for both winners, and those who put in the work to run the contest.
Enjoy!

It does help to keep a "good thing going" :)
I've tried starting "just for fun" contests before (pine car derby models) but the number of entries was small and the goals not all that clear.
To the extent that this promotes more people to enjoy the fun without getting too wrapped up in a "must win" attitude I think it will be a great learning experience for all. |

I noticed the Gallery is in truePlace.
Does this require tS7.x? |

Hi James,
No, all you have to do is go here:
http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts7/Brochure/truePlaces.asp?SubCate=S2forum
And register and download truePlay which is a stand alone program that will let you access the truePlay rooms.

The only suggestion I would have about the new truePlace Speed Model Exhibit, it is similiar with the other exhibition site of digitaldali. The two panels are side by side and look very much the same. Maybe a banner or tag so we can tell them apart.
I like that you can click next to the rendering and be taken to that thread of the forum. |
