When editing a link editor node what attribute type is used to output an objects name?

I am not able to find it.

Hi J90.


Choose Direction: OUT


Type: string


name: your choice (example: strMyName)


Then in jscript command code, use this:


params.ConValue("strMyName") = System.ThisName();


make sure you have the capitalization with the System command.

Thanks Frootee,

I meant in a non-script object such as a primitive node like in this picture below.

It has an attribute called Object Name. What attribute type was used?


This is actually part of the physEvent 3.

Under C:\<trueSpace directory here>\tS\PDFMan\resources\chapter11

Hi J90. I would say, the string type was used. But I don't think I'm answering your question...


What are you trying to achieve specifically? That may help me/us guide you in the right direction.

Basically trying to make an object's physics enabled after two different objects collide with eachother.


For example two spheres collide triggering an event which then activates another objects physics.


from what I seen in the physevent3 scene I need to be able to get an objects name which is auto-filled in by an attribute.


I am sorry I am not able to explain it any better.

Open the System - Kernel library and Drag & Drop an ObjectName.RsObj inside your object. Then export the Object attribute. You can then hook the Object Name output to your Event.
